For me, it’s not so much each phrase but the conscious or mindful intent or lack of it that I’m sensitive to.One person can say ” it is what it is” as a way of choosing not to engage, not letting the mind run down an old, habitual and unhelpful track.

I had been looking at my own beliefs and read again page 49 of Joe Vitale book Spiritual Marketing where he describes how he knows if he is clear or not.He says “think of something that you want to have, do or be.”Why don’t you have it yet?” OK my list was mostly the same old chestnuts, abandonment, wanting only positive attention and love.

I like his clearing check list.

If your answer is something negative (or not a good feeling), you aren’t clear.

If you say anything except an honest “I know it’s on the way to me”, you probably aren’t clear inside. (clear of an unhelpful belief)

Next ask yourself
“What does it mean that you don’t yet have what you want?” The answer to that question will reveal your beliefs.

For example if you say
“I have to do … before I can have what I want”

means you have a belief that you have to do … before you can have what you want.

I personally found it wonderfully revealing!

On page 48 he says
Me and Jonathan made a pact that said
“Whenever I’m not clear, I am to call him.” Then whenever I let something in life throw me for a tailspin, I would call him. ( he (Joe) had originally gone to see Jonathan once a month realised he needed weekly sessions and then settled on calling as and when he needed)

I (Sue) was thinking I’d like to do the same with a friend and just in saying that, it makes me more aware and I catch and look at / dissolve or change whatever the old belief is /was. Also less need to call anyway. If it helps you could do the same.

Then I closed my eyes and had a flash of a program schedule and clearly saw the words

The Fisher King

The meaning I saw in the film was this,
Robin Williams keeps encountering a fearsome warrior on horseback each time (I realised) he feels love. His girlfriend in the film we discover was killed in an explosion in a restaurant so love for him was traumatically entwined with fear.

Until he allows himself to feel love again and then the warrior is gone.

The Fisher King, one of those films that has mixed reviews (= opinions / beliefs) but that had a great message for me.

Quote from The Fisher King

“It begins with the king as a boy, having to spend the night alone in the forest to prove his courage so he can become king. Now while he is spending the night alone he’s visited by a sacred vision. Out of the fire appears the holy grail, symbol of God’s divine grace. And a voice said to the boy, “You shall be keeper of the grail so that it may heal the hearts of men.” But the boy was blinded by greater visions of a life filled with power and glory and beauty. And in this state of radical amazement he felt for a brief moment not like a boy, but invincible, like God, so he reached into the fire to take the grail, and the grail vanished, leaving him with his hand in the fire to be terribly wounded. Now as this boy grew older, his wound grew deeper. Until one day, life for him lost its reason. He had no faith in any man, not even himself. He couldn’t love or feel loved. He was sick with experience. He began to die. One day a fool wandered into the castle and found the king alone. And being a fool, he was simple minded, he didn’t see a king. He only saw a man alone and in pain. And he asked the king, “What ails you friend?” The king replied, “I’m thirsty. I need some water to cool my throat”. So the fool took a cup from beside his bed, filled it with water and handed it to the king. As the king began to drink, he realized his wound was healed. He looked in his hands and there was the holy grail, that which he sought all of his life. And he turned to the fool and said with amazement, “How can you find that which my brightest and bravest could not?” And the fool replied, “I don’t know. I only knew that you were thirsty.”
Feel stuck in a rut in some area of your life?
Here are 3 easy steps to help you be more creative, find solutions to problems faster and even generate great ideas.

Ask a clear question, this may seem obvious but it’s amazing how unclear, vague and fuzzy our questions can be. Make your question the more precise the better.

Mentally acknowledge and accept that you ‘just don’t know’ the answer, at this second in time, this is very important as it frees your mind to open and receive new ideas.

Now just go about your day, do something else even during your working day or though it may be more fun to paint, go fishing, or play golf. Trust that your mind is now acting rather like an internet search engine and a solution will surface, you just don’t know when – and that’s a surprise!

Begin to see and make your own creativity a daily treasure hunt. If it helps start with something small and just strengthen your belief in your creative ability as you go, and like strengthening a muscle and work with it.

Use this three step approach if you have a problem or where you need a creative solution, it really does work.

Recognize yourself more and more as a creative person.

Have fun, your mind is alive with ideas!

We are the sum total of our experiences, which is to say that we are burdened by our pasts. When we experience stress or fear in our lives, if we would look carefully, we would find that the cause is actually a memory. It is the emotions which are tied to these memories which affect us now. The subconscious associates an action or person in the present with something that happened in the past.

I followed the Earth Hour link on Google as we put our clocks forward here in the UK tonight. It said that individuals account for 45% of over 500 million tones of CO2 per year.

It’s not just homes, I wondered what percentage of this 45% are the albeit pretty lights left on in office buildings in every town and city across-the-globe? All the machines in homes and offices using juice in standby mode?

How can more of us remember to turn each light off?

Saving electricity isn’t really meaningful for many, but what about “I turn this light off for my daughter Andrea and her children”, or “I shut down this computer for my friend Carol and this one for Ena”?

It’s so easy to have different and contradictory measures. What difference does this one light make, but we easily remember to collect a few vouchers at a time for school computers or remember to claim the points as we pay for our petrol or gas.

If a loved one is sick we do what we can to make them better, we turn down the light, bring a cool drink if they have a temperature, or a warm blanket if they have a chill.

This truly amazing and exquisitely beautiful planet needs us to lower the temperature for her and remember to switch the lights and power off, to turn the heat down.

I believe beautiful art and quotations with a sincere or healthy intent, can and do offer and have, a profoundly positive affect. Can certainly be and are, life enhancing, can also be life changing and have a lasting affect.

I have been reading (or rather dipping in and out of ) <a search?ie="UTF8&keywords=A%20Course%20in%20Miracles&tag=thefinessitecom&index=books&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=thefinessitecom&l=ur2&o=1" border="0" height="1" width="1" target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&keywords=A%20Course%20in%20Miracles&tag=thefinessitecom&index=books&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325" style="margin: 0px; border: medium none" title="A Course in Miracles">A Course in Miracles recently. I was struck by a statement that, giving and receiving are one.

As with many quotes or quotations, there was that insight of fresh understanding, as if a door opens and there is that middle ground between the opposites of labels and concepts that are needed for anything human made, truth seems to exist somewhere beyond.

More peace in the world, hmmm sounds good doesn’t it?

Maybe by just one thought at a time, or rather one intent at a time, the more sincere the better. Each one moment where there is a vibrational energy shift in one more human being, that adds up to something.

I’ve begun to use the phrase “to everyone I give peace” just quietly to myself, or out loud when I’m alone and I feel more peaceful. Not 24 / 7 but more of the time, and I feel as if I am experiencing more peace in my life, some may say it’s subjective, but more peace feel good to me.

To everyone I give peace.
